Why we built it

Whot, Ludo, Draughts and Ayo are not niche. They are how millions of people already spend an evening — and yet the digital versions are mostly ports of someone else's games, with the rules filed down and the feel lost.

NaijaGamez treats them as the classics they are. The rules are the rules people actually play by, the app is small enough for the phones people actually own, and it works when the data does not — because a game you cannot start is not a game.

What's in the app

Two kinds of game, for two kinds of evening.

Board & card classics

The games that get played on a Sunday afternoon, at a family compound, in a hostel common room — rules intact, no house-rule arguments.

Whot

2–6 players

The card game everybody knows. Match by shape or number, and empty your hand first.

Ludo

2–4 players

Roll, race, and send them home. No safe boxes, and a capture rides you to the centre.

Draughts

Capture or be captured. The board game that turns a quiet evening competitive.

Four ways to start a game

Most games assume a fast connection and a full data bundle. NaijaGamez assumes neither, and treats the offline case as the normal one rather than the degraded one.

Global matchmaking, so a game with family abroad is the same game as a game with the person next to you.

One player hosts, everyone else joins over the same Wi-Fi. No data is spent, and no connection to us is needed.

The games, the offline AI opponents and local Wi-Fi play are free forever. Optional coin packs and cosmetic table skins are the only paid extras, and neither one changes how a hand is dealt or a die is rolled.

The download is under 40 MB and runs on Android 8.0 and above, which is the point: a game for everyone has to install on the phone everyone actually has.

What is NaijaGamez?
NaijaGamez is a mobile games app from Ossai Space Limited that brings West African classic games into digital form. It covers the board and card games — Whot, Ludo, Draughts and Ayo — alongside party games including Charades, Mafia, Would You Rather, Two Truths and a Lie and quizzes.
Do I need an internet connection to play?
No. Every board and card game can be played offline against computer opponents, or over local Wi-Fi with people in the same place, with no data spent. An internet connection is only needed for global online matchmaking.
Does it cost anything?
No. The games, offline AI opponents and local Wi-Fi play are free forever. Optional coin packs and cosmetic table skins are the only paid extras, and nothing about them changes how a game plays.
Which devices does NaijaGamez run on?
NaijaGamez runs on Android 8.0 and above, and the download is under 40 MB so it installs on modest phones and modest data. An iOS version is in the works; there is no date to share yet.
Can I play with family abroad?
Yes. Online matchmaking is global, so a game with relatives in another country works exactly like a game with someone in the same room. Rooms can also be created and shared with specific people rather than matched at random.
How do you stop cheating?
Online matches run behind Fair Play Guard, our anti-cheat system, and results feed global leaderboards and daily tournaments. A game whose ladder can be gamed is not worth climbing.
